              9th Annual Conference on Addictive Disorders

                                         Call for Papers 


The 9th Annual Conference on Addictive Disorders is a multi-disciplinary three-day educational
event for medical, counseling, education, academia, judicial, legislative, prevention, clergy, and
law enforcement professionals. 

PROPOSAL FORMAT – For keynote, plenary or workshop sessions.

 

Keynote:                    Broad topic of interest related to conference theme

Plenary:                      Broad topic usually related to conference theme

Workshop:                 Specific topic related to addictive disorders 


          
 

 

Cover Page for Session

  1. Title of Session:  Limit of 10 words.
  2. Speakers:  For each speaker, include: Name, credentials, current employment, home address, work phone/fax, and email.
  3. Professional Vitae/Resume for Each Speaker:  Three page maximum for each, highlighting subject matter competency.
  4. Previous Conference Presentation Experience:  Where/when you have presented workshops.
  5. Previous Presentation of Proposed Session:  If the proposed session has been presented previously, please indicate when/where.

 

Session Proposal

  1. Title of Session:  Limit 10 words.
  2. Description of Program:  Limit 50 words; suitable for printing in conference program book.
  3. Abstract:  Limit 200 words describing project/topic. 
  4. Learning Objectives:  Specifically indicate what the audience will learn by participating in this session (e.g., “Participants will be able to…”).  If for a Poster Session, please provide brief description of expected topics of discussion.   
  5. Mode of Presentation:  Lecture, discussion, panel, or interactive.
  6. Bibliography:  Reference material used to develop presentation.
  7. Suggested Conference Event:  Indicate whether you envision your presentation as a keynote, plenary or workshop. 
  8. Suggested Length of Session:  Please be aware that keynotes and plenaries are 90 minutes long; workshops are either 75 or 90 minutes long.

 

 

PRESENTER INFORMATION

 

For planning purposes, please be aware of the following:

  1. Workshop rooms will be set with 100 chairs in theater style.
  2. Keynote, plenary, and workshop speakers will receive a waiver for conference registration and CEU's for the day of their presentation.  These speakers will pay for their own lodging, transportation, handouts, and  meals not provided as part of a conference activity.  Poster Session presenters will not receive a registration or CEU waiver and are responsible for their own expenses. 
  3. Keynote, plenary, and workshop speakers will be provided with a podium, microphone,  projection screen, laptop and LCD projector.
  4. Proposals in Adobe.pdf orWord 2003 format must be emailed to ExecutiveDirector@FlAddictionsInstitute.org and received by December 11, 2009 
  5. Proposals will be reviewed and speakers selected by the Conference Presenter Selection Committee.
  6. Those who submit proposals will be informed by email of the committee’s decision on January 8, 2010
