Addictions Counselor Training
Available Online
Beginning January 2010
Responding to numerous requests to
make the Fort Myers-based Florida
Addictions Institute Certificate
Program in addictions counseling
available to people across the state,
FAI will offer the program in a live, interactive online format beginning in January, 2010.
The Florida Addictions Institute’s
twelve month 350-hour Certificate
Program provides all the substance
abuse education requirements to be
eligible to become credentialed by
the Florida Certification Board as
a: Certified Addictions Professional
(CAP), Certified Addictions
Counselor (CAC), or Certified
Addictions Specialist (CAS).
The Florida Addictions Institute is
unique because it provides:
1. Coordinated and comprehensive
coursework providing both in-depth
understanding of the nature of
addiction and hands-on counseling
skills.
2. Adult-learner model which allows
completion on evenings without disrupting current employment.
3. Opportunities to interact with your instruction online, through e-mail, through our online forum, or at one of our events during the year
4. Networking opportunities at our Annual Conference, or at our two Mini-Conferences held each year.
