Florida Addictions Institute's faculty were chosen not only because of their status as experts in
 their  individual specializations, but also because of their love of teaching and ability to impart
their knowledge to students.   Each instructor has been recognized by their peers as  being
masters of their subject matter and leaders in the treatment community, and each
instructor teaches a course which  he/she finds both exciting and inspirational.  


Elena Aleman
Faculty

Ed.D  (ABD – All But Dissertation/Complete Except Dissertation). in
Educational/Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University,
MS in Mental Health Counseling from Florida International University, and
BS in Psychology from Florida International University.  LMHC (Licensed
Mental Health Counselor -- State of  Florida) and Board Qualified Mental
Health Supervisor.  Twelve years experience including: program director of
an outpatient substance abuse program, clinical supervisor, and private

Services. Seven year’s  direct
service experience.
Creator of an award winning occupational therapy

for the Transitional Living Center and avid researcher in best
practice
protocols. Author or co-author of several scholarly papers in print
or in
submission for peer-review prior to publication.

Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the University of South Florida, MSPH in
Epidemiology from University
of South Florida, Juris Doctorate in Law from
the Florida State
University College of Law, and AS in Nursing from the
University of the State of New York. Over sixteen
years experience at
program director level, including: Director of Prevention
and Education of
the Island Coast AIDS Network in

National Board for Certified Counselors), Diplomat - International Association of Behavioral Medicine, Counseling and Psychotherapy and State of

Qualified Clinical Supervisor. Clinical Director for the Lee County Coalition for a Drug Free Southwest Florida, 11 years
experience providing professional counseling to adults, youth and families, forensic assessments for juveniles incarcerated by the Dept. of Juvenile Justice, and parent education program director.

Fellow - American College of Certified Forensic Counselors, American
Academy of Health Care Providers.  Dr. Wallick is the Executive
Director of the Comprehensive Addiction Rehabilitation and Education
Center, Fort Lauderdale.
